The first international hybrid meeting (physical and online) of the partners of the project “WalkEur – Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe as key actors in the promotion of European cultural heritage“, took place in the Comarca de la Vera in Extremadura between 26 and 28 July 2021.

The status of the different work packages part of the project were presented in order to exchange experiences and prepare the training sessions and transnational exchanges that will allow to work in the fields of management, communication, the story around the routes, citizen participation, dissemination of results, local impact and the exchange of experiences and good practices.

WalkEur project

The WALKEUR project is led by the European Routes of Charles V and has as partners the European Route of Jewish Heritage (AEPJ), the European Route of Ceramics, and the Atrium European Cultural Route – Architecture of the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century, and aims to help improve the working methods of cultural routes certified by the Council of Europe in the fields of resource management, sources and archives, citizen participation, resource and route management, marketing and storytelling, and digitisation through training and capacity building activities, exchange of experiences, pilot actions and the development of a guide to help promote synergies and new working methodologies in these fields among the routes.

The project has a duration of 2 years, starting in November 2020 and ending in October 2022, within the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission.
